Just started setting my new vinyl stuff. The deck has a ground wire with no attachment. How important is it to attach it to something?

Ground stops humming, so depends if you want hear and hum in everything you play. You would normally connect the ground to the amp or speaker.
What rig have you got?

@bdhatcher I have a NAD 3225PE amplifier and an Ariston Qdeck. I think have managed to sort it. It basically didn’t have a connecter on the end and seemed to just be attached to the body of the deck so wasn’t sure it was doing much. But I have wired it in to the ground on the back of the amp and it seems ok.
